  • Finding A Great Piece Of Diamond For Your Engagement Ring

When we look at diamond rings closely the quality of diamond has to be supreme to make it stand out. After the cut it is definitely the clarity of the diamond that you should look forward too. This and some more tips on spotting the best diamond that you can afford will make you a pro in choosing your engagement ring!

It is not always true that a high quality clarity is important while choosing a great piece of diamond. This isn’t the only thing that makes your diamond brilliantly sparkling as we discussed already how the cut is primarily important. However clarity is often mistaken as the kind of sparkle and brilliance that occurs due to some great cuts. But clarity however refers to the presence of microscopic features that naturally grow within a diamond. As a diamond crystallizes, its clarity develops. When this is seen under the ready, visible eyes, without any form of magnification, then these crystals might reduce the beauty and texture of the diamond. A poor quality may greatly reduce the overall value of a diamond. Otherwise clarity does little to impact upon the quality of the attractiveness of the diamond.

There is also a misconception that the bigger the carat of the diamond, the more attractive it is. This is totally wrong as to maintain the carat size of a piece of diamond, minimal cuts are done on its surface. So the better and finer the cuts are the more you will expect it to shine forth with brilliance. The brilliance has nothing to do with carat weight.

But often one can enjoy massive savings knowing all the difference that a carat makes. A carat basically has ten points and the cost of diamond increases with the increase in the carat. As a diamond reaches a full carat point of 100, its price automatically increases and it only gets higher with the each carat thereafter. The trick is to buy a diamond with 90 points. A 9/10ths carat would make a great difference rather than a full carat. One gets to make a great saving even after restoring wonderful brilliance and attractiveness. A 1.90 carat thus works great rather than a full 2 carat too and thus you end up saving even when you need to use so much in your piece of accessory. When its set no one gets to note the difference but one enjoys great dividends by looking at these minor aspects.

While choosing for an engagement ring, consider shapes that appeal to you other than round. There are several exciting shapes such as princess, heart and emerald that look very elegant and glamorous choices for an engagement ring. But when the cut is brilliant it makes a lot of difference as well. If you are looking for a larger looking diamond then you must understand that round diamonds look smaller than other shapes even though the carat and size remains same. On the other hand, oval, pear-shape or marquise will look larger.

If you want to impress your fiancé with a cluster of diamonds on your engagement ring then it’s a good idea to go for the Tiffany-style setting that might cost around $7,500. But a ring containing three stones with a total weight of full one carat would cost $3,250. In fact going for a diamond with a total of 9 diamonds would only cost around $2,000 or less. So it is always a good idea to go for several pieces of smaller diamonds than a large, single piece.
